The technologies are MU-MIMO, OFDMA, and 1024-QAM.

Apart from being fast, the Wi-Fi 6 comes with other advanced features as well. The new feature is by the name of Target Wake Time. Through this, the schedule checks in time of the certified Wi-Fi routers of the connected devices. Through this time, the scheduling only takes place and activates the antenna only at the time of usage. They are keeping the devices on power to transit. They do not search for signals for a longer period of time. If they are powered on for a longer period of time they use a large amount of power.

Wi-Fi security evolves around the WPA2 technology since 2004. It is a special type of protocol, which can encrypt communications. The exchange of information between the client device and router can exchange information safely without any security breaches. This way all the information will remain private and your data will be saved.

 WPA2 was one of the safest until the year 2017. There were some loopholes and weaknesses, which can let the attackers steal your private data and sensitive information when they were in your Wi-Fi router range. The protocol then raised questions about the safety of the data.

However, after that, the Wi-Fi alliance announced the new and advanced technology WPA3 in 2018. It was a replacement for the WPA2. It has moreover replaced the need for a 4-way handshake. There is another method called the SAE (Simultaneous Authentication of Equals) to authenticate the client in WPA2.

The SAE is a zero-knowledge method that is a specially designed method. It uses a secret key that is shared by the client and the router. Moreover, it will further generate the session to encrypt and decrypt the transmissions of the Wi-Fi. If there are more customers, they will establish their secret network with the router.

Important Features of WPA3

Forward Secrecy is another significant feature of the WPA3. It works as an indirect effect of SAE implementation. It ensures that if the hackers can get encrypted Wi-Fi they can access the data. The encrypted transmissions and the crack session key will be of no use as the attackers will not be able to get their hands on the data. The inaccessibility of the data is because they use different keys to access the data.

Moreover, the WPA3 is optional for the existing customers as a lot of manufacturers are not patching the products through the firmware update. However, if the manufacturers want to market their products they have to be Wi-Fi 6 certified. It is because the Wi-Fi Alliance has made it compulsory that WA3 should be implemented. This is the reason that Wpa3 is more secure and offers more security.

However, the open Wi-Fi networks available in the malls, cafes, and stadiums have also improved their security under the WPA protocol.
